Ok guys,Read carefully as this is not your typical sale listing. For sale is a custom built Yamaha R1, what I mean by custom is a fully built, from the ground up, Yamaha R1. I initially purchased a bad engine with around 1500 miles (rod knock) repaired it with all brand new parts (rod and main bearings, circlips, gaskets, and a barely used crank, rods and pistons, etc). The engine runs very strong, there are no issues with it whatsoever, is running a little lean as I have a BMC race filter and on the exhaust side installed race baffles, gutted cats and shortened pipes by 1″ – and no power commander or bazzaz, so I’m pretty sure it’s running a little on the lean side. Also have smog block offs installed. As far as the body goes, it is not perfect, there is a small scratch on the nose (on the thinnest section by the headlight) and on the left lower cowling there is a about 1″ section with minimal rash, also the passenger seat is a little scuffed up. THE BIKE WAS NEVER DROPPED – I just bought these parts like that. I have most of the receipts, engine was purchased from california (EBay) , frame was purchased locally through a forum member (frame is blank), and 90% of the other parts were purchased through ebay or R1 forums. Frame has around 2200 miles on it, speedo shows a little over 2500 – I bought the speedo with a little under 2150, = I put over 350 miles on since it was road ready. Bike is 95% complete, is missing only a few parts (front blinkers, right intake cowling cover and black trim that mounts under the nose), I am still hunting the internet for them so chances are it will be fully completed before it’s sold. Mods done are xenon 7000K HIDs w/relay harness, custom oil pressure gauge, puig windscreen, LP carbon sliders, license plate relocator w/blinkers, battery tender ready (will include battery tender also), tank pad, etc. This bike is a beast, there are no surprises, what you see is what u get BUT for a fraction of the price. I was going to register it and use it legally but certain expanses came up and I need to sell it. I still ride it but on my old (01) R1 plates, I’m just taking a chance that I can get pulled over anytime. In most states you can register it by providing documentation on the build process and on parts acquired, at least that is the process here in IL. If interested please make sure you research all information before committing to buy, as I will not be responsible for your lack of due diligence. This could also be used as a track bike (off road) where titling would not be required. I see clean 07-08 go for around 8000k, my asking price is much much lower. I started the build in April 09 and technically finished in May of 2010, I spent many hours ensuring everything was assembled to spec as per the factory manual, no detail went overlooked. The pictures can testify to that. Please not that I have two keys, one for ignition and gas cap and second for trunk.I’m sure there will be plenty of questions, please don’t hesitate to ask, I have 100% feedback so rest assured this auction is fully legit.
